BACKGROUND

GKN Aerospace, a leader in aerospace systems and components with over 40 manufacturing sites in 13 countries, sought assistance in transforming its manufacturing processes. The aim was to implement an asset care programme focused on achieving zero breakdowns and significantly increasing equipment uptime.

GKN Aerospace faced persistent reliability and efficiency issues with their advanced manufacturing technologies. Frequent equipment breakdowns and deterioration posed considerable operational risks, exacerbated by the added pressures of the global pandemic, threatening both productivity and operational continuity.

our solution

Henkan’s Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) asset care programme implemented a modular learning approach combining structured classroom sessions with practical, hands-on training. Central to this was the use of a pilot NDT rig, allowing participants to directly apply and refine their skills.
