Organisational Assessment
Henkan’s complementary diagnostic approach helps leadership teams understand their current state condition, map their change landscape, identify where performance is sub-standard, and decide on what to focus on next.
A short, tailored organisational assessment designed to create alignment, trust, and a clear foundation for improvement; as well as what the actionable first steps could be.
Henkan’s organisational assessment is designed to help organisations understand their unique challenges before committing resources to improvement activity.
We believe sustainable transformation starts with a clear, shared understanding of the current state situation. Our complementary diagnostic approach allows us to identify where cultural, process, capability or system improvements will deliver measurable benefit and return on investment.
This assessment goes beyond traditional diagnostics. It is a practical route to meaningful change, shaped around your organisation’s environment, strategic goals, and desired culture.
What our organisational assessment involves.
Built around what you need to understand
Rather than applying a fixed model, we combine a selection of topic and element assessments to create a diagnostic that fits your organisation.
The assessment typically includes a mix of self guided assessment templates, interviews, group workshops, light data review, and on site walkabouts. A basic assessment usually takes one to two days per site, with the option to extend depth or scope where required.
The focus is agreed upfront, so time is spent understanding the areas that matter most.
Assess your problem-solving capability
Lean and operational performance
We assess the technical and operational domains that underpin consistent performance and improvement. This can include areas such as quality management, operational efficiency, asset care and maintenance, improvement routines, strategy deployment, and daily performance management.
The focus is on understanding how work is really done today, and where performance is being constrained.
Leadership and people – Soft Skills Assessment
We assess leadership and people related capabilities that influence how improvement happens in practice. This can include leadership agenda and vision, people development, change management, problem solving, and safety leadership.
For each area, we provide a high level view of strengths, weaknesses, and maturity based on leading practices.
Organisational Resistance – Readiness for change
Where future interventions are being considered, we can assess organisational resistance and readiness for change at a local or site level.
This involves reviewing the levers that influence engagement, alignment, and resistance, helping inform how change should be approached and tailored across the organisation.
Complimentary Assessment Output
– What you receive.
Clear, usable outputs
A typical two day assessment can include:
- Executive summary of key insights
- High level organisational excellence maturity view
- Technical and leadership maturity assessments
- Detailed site observations and comparisons
- Overview of the organisational change landscape
- Draft high level programme direction, where required
After the Assessment.
Turning insight into direction
Following the assessment, we work with leaders to translate the data and findings into practical next steps. This could include a high-level roadmap, further work to test the business case, or defining what kind of change activity is actually needed.
There is no obligation to continue working with us. The outcome of the assessment is a clear, usable plan that belongs to you. If you choose to take it forward independently, you can. If you want support delivering it, we can help. Either way, the intent is the same, to give you clarity, confidence, and a practical route forward.
A practical starting point.
If you want a clearer understanding of where your organisation stands today, and what to prioritise next, this diagnostic is the place to start.
